Lincoln National Forest

Featuring over one million acres

The Lincoln National Forest features popular recreation and winter sports area and is an important local timber resource and protected wilderness area. With rugged mountain terrain, Lincoln National Forest offers adventurers hiking and horse trails, campgrounds, picnic sites, skiing, mountain biking, and more. Northeast of the village, Lincoln Historic Site has 19th-century adobe and stone buildings, including a store and church, plus a museum.

Sierra Blanca Regional Airport (RUI)

Sierra Blanca Regional Airport is just 15 miles northeast of Ruidoso.

The public airport features two asphalt paved runways and offers direct flights to Albuquerque, El Paso, Midland/Odessa, and Dallas/Ft. Worth.
